The Girl and the Goldcrest is the first new book in the Greenerdawn series, aimed at 8–12 year-olds.
The series plunges youngsters into a world where there are many catastrophic threats to the environment. But it’s our world, the real world, except for one thing – each species of animal has a ‘Guardian’ appointed by ‘Nature’ to protect it from extinction, and these Guardians can communicate with humans. The hero Emma finds she has this power and so, to help wildlife, she embarks on a series of adventures, both with Guardians, and her friends. But there is an evil adult with this power too – The Lord of The Air...
