Storytime with the Easter Bunny

Join us for storytime in the bookshop on Friday 11th April, with a special Easter guest from Fisher’s Pet Store! We’ll be reading lots of stories about rabbits to make our special guest feel right at home. Storytime will start at 11am and run for approx 20 minutes, with a short petting session with our special guest to follow.

Tickets are free, but please sign up as spaces are limited.. If you can attend without a pram, it would be really helpful for space, however prams are welcome if necessary!

Join us in the bookshop for an In Conversation event with acclaimed author of Cecily, Annie Garthwaite, as she celebrates the paperback publication of her second book, The King’s Mother, as part of our Indie Bookshop Week celebrations.

See the Wars of the Roses through the eyes of the women who shaped them: Cecily Neville, King’s Mother; Marguerite of Anjou, deposed Queen; Elizabeth Woodville, betrayed wife; and Margaret Beaufort, mother of an exiled son.

After meeting Rob at a recent event, and hearing him talk so eloquently and with great hilarity about this brilliant novel, I’m so excited to welcome him to the shop and introduce you all to him and ‘Dog’. He is fab!

There will be an opportunity to ask Rob questions and get a copy of the book signed as part of the event. The event will run for approximately 1 hour.

Join us in the shop on Thursday 29th August to celebrate the launch of Sheffield-based author, Andy Evans’ new chapter book, ‘The Little Adventures of Erig the Earwig.’

‘What does an earwig say at the start of an adventure? Of course, it's “earwigo-again!” These are the adventures of Erig the earwig and Erig’s best friend Bob, the small, brainy, copper beetle. Together they explore fascinating places in their garden and go on adventures where they meet and help many other interesting bugs and insects. 

​’Perfect for bed-time reading for 5-8 year olds, or solo reading from 7-9 year olds, these stories are both whimsical, full of interesting characters and beautifully illustrated.’

There’ll be a reading from the book, a draw-along activity led by illustrator, Lucy Fleming, as well as some exciting surprises! The perfect afternoon activity for the summer holidays!

Didn’t manage to get tickets to our Lydia Monks event on December 8th? Not to worry! We are opening the bookshop up after the event so you can get your pre-ordered copy of ‘What the Ladybird Heard at Christmas’ signed and meet Lydia.

This signing is for pre-ordered books only. Books can be ordered via the link below or directly from the bookshop. Pre-orders close Tuesday 5th December.

If you’re not able to be there on the 8th, you can still pre-order your book to be signed, and it will be kept in the bookshop until you are able to collect it. Please make sure you include a name on the pre-order form if you request additional personalisation.

Books will remain in the shop and will be able to collect for the signing from 4:30pm on 8th December. Any books not collected on the night will remain in the shop for collection.
