EVENT James Brown: Wild Book Day Drawalong
Join illustrator and author, James Brown as he teaches you how to draw your own book characters while talking about his new book, Wild Book Day! There will be a book reading, a book signing, drawing demos, top tips and the chance to create your own story character!
Perfect for budding artists, and booklovers who want to find out all about how the pictures are brought to life in stories and have a go themselves!
Wild Book Day is an exhilarating adventure from renowned picture book author, Karl Newson, that sparks a lifelong love for books. Characters from different stories collide to celebrate our rich tapestry of children's literature. As pages wildly come to life, this ‘riotous read’ not only entertains but also shows the magic of storytelling and the importance of keeping the joy of reading alive. With every turn of the page, it's a celebration of the limitless worlds within books, encouraging young minds to become active participants in their everyday reading adventures.
Slightly obsessed with picture books, James enjoys writing and illustrating his own. He writes and illustrates for older children too and since 2014 has illustrated or written over 20 books. James studied English Literature at Sheffield and Stockholm and has an M.Litt in Creative Writing from St Andrews University. James was one of five illustrators to win the SCBWI's Undiscovered Voices 2014 competition.
Tickets are £5 each.
PLEASE NOTE: Tickets are limited to 2 children and 1 adult per family.
